Designed for creators who need stronger illumination without sacrificing mobility, the Ray 120c outperforms amaran’s 150c and achieves an 85% reduction in body size for easier use in tight spaces and fast-paced environments. Powered by the OmniColor light engine, it delivers versatile power options and straightforward local/app control via the FlowTurn knob and NFC pairing. Choose an extended 1800–20,000K CCT+ range with excellent color accuracy or take advantage of full 360° color flexibility in HSI and RGB modes. Even with its minimal footprint, the Ray 120c retains a full-size Bowens mount, supports Ace E-Lock solutions, and offers USB-C PD compatibility. Essential accessories are included, making it a ready-to-travel tool for outdoor shoots or studio setups.
Higher Output in a Portable Body
The Ray 120c delivers up to 6850 lux at 3.3' and 3200K as a bare source, with even more punch available when paired with optional Mini Reflector or Mini Fresnel attachments. It produces up to 8719 lumens with green-magenta adjustment and achieves strong color performance: CRI 95, TLCI 95, SSI 80/87, and TM-30 94/100. These ratings ensure accurate skin tones, consistent colors, and clean whites both to the eye and on camera.
360º Full-Color Capability
amaran’s OmniColor engine enhances the light’s color spectrum with expanded output in red and blue wavelengths for a more complete, balanced look. The Ray 120c offers a base color temperature range of 2300–10,000K, expandable to a wider 1800–20,000K in CCT+ mode, alongside smooth 0–100% stepless dimming. Full 360° HSI and RGB color control opens creative possibilities, while the FX mode provides 12 built-in effects: fireworks, faulty bulb, lightning, TV, pulsing, strobe, explosion, fire, paparazzi, welding, cop car, and party.
Intuitive, Adaptive Controls
The Ray 120c includes a Quick Operation mode for rapid changes, customizable shortcuts using long-press and double-click inputs, and dedicated High-Speed Photography and Studio modes. The streamlined menu system and TFT screen support fast on-unit operation, while the FlowTurn knob offers precise tactile adjustment. Built-in NFC enables one-tap pairing with the amaran app, and Bluetooth control provides a wide 262.5' operating range for remote lighting adjustments.
Versatile Power Options
With support for the amaran Ace E-Lock system, USB-C PD 3.0, and 12–24V DC input, the Ray 120c offers flexible powering both on location and in the studio. Use the included AC adapter for continuous power or connect optional USB-C PD power banks for mobile workflows. The optional amaran Peak battery delivers approximately 35 minutes of full-output cable-free operation, while the optional Peak 75 provides up to 46 minutes at a limited 50% output.

The Ray 120c features a durable full-size metal Bowens mount compatible with optional Mini Reflectors, Mini Fresnels, and most Bowens-style modifiers. A built-in 1/4"-20 mount expands rigging options with additional grip accessories. amaran includes an 11.8" one-snap Octa Dome 30 softbox and an Ace Lock to Baby Pin Adapter Grip for fast mounting to stands or handheld operation when paired with portable batteries. A tough silicone strap is included to secure your power source during mobile use.
