The Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 is an innovative digital film camera that integrates advanced technology into post-production workflows. Featuring a large format 65mm RGBW sensor with a resolution of 17520 x 8040, it delivers 16 stops of dynamic range. The camera supports interchangeable PL, LPL, and Hasselblad lens mounts and comes equipped with standard Lemo and Fischer connections.
Storage and Networking
The URSA Cine 17K 65 includes 8TB of high-performance storage and high-speed networking for media uploads and syncing with Blackmagic Cloud. It will be showcased at the Blackmagic Design IBC Stand 7.C49.
Image Quality
Designed to deliver exceptional image quality from 4K to 17K, the URSA Cine’s sensor builds on the URSA Mini Pro 12K’s technology, offering larger photo-sites and a unique RGBW architecture for enhanced color accuracy. Its robust magnesium alloy and lightweight carbon fiber design ensures quick and efficient operation on set.
Lens and Monitoring
Multiple lens options are supported through its interchangeable mount, including PL, LPL, EF, and Hasselblad, each with contact pins for lens metadata. The camera provides various monitoring options, including:

Recording and Workflow
The camera records Blackmagic RAW files with metadata, lens data, white balance, and custom LUTs, supporting a seamless workflow. The 8TB Blackmagic Media Module allows recording over 4 hours of 17K footage using the full sensor aperture or up to 20 hours in 4K. The built-in optical low pass filter ensures precise color response and image detail.
Cloud Integration
As the first digital film camera with built-in high-speed Cloud Store technology, the URSA Cine enables fast media transfers via 10G Ethernet. It also supports creating small H.264 proxy files for quick upload to the Blackmagic Cloud, enabling real-time media access at the studio.
Streaming Capabilities
The camera includes built-in streaming capabilities with support for RTMP and SRT protocols. Simply connect via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or mobile data for live streaming.
Optional Accessories
URSA Cine supports the optional URSA Cine EVF for accurate outdoor and handheld shooting. The integrated 1920 x 1080 OLED display and digital focus chart aid in precise viewfinder focus.
Power Options
The camera includes an 8-pin Lemo power connector for both 24V and 12V power supplies, making it compatible with a wide range of existing batteries and accessories.
