Canon Expands Its PTZ Lineup with the New CR-N350 and CR-N400 4K Cameras

Canon continues to raise the bar in professional video technology with the release of two new Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras — the CR-N350 and CR-N400. Designed for precision, power, and production flexibility, these new PTZ systems offer 4K UHD imaging, advanced connectivity, and Canon’s renowned color science, perfectly suited for studios, corporate settings, houses of worship, live events, and education environments.

Bridging the Gap in Canon’s PTZ Lineup

Canon developed the CR-N350 and CR-N400 to fill the space between its existing PTZ models — the CR-N300 and CR-N500. Both new cameras capture 4K 60p video using a 1/2.3” CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC DV7 image processor, delivering the exceptional clarity, contrast, and skin tone accuracy that professionals expect from Canon’s imaging technology. A 20x optical zoom (expandable to 40x in Full HD) makes them adaptable for wide shots or long-distance framing.

Canon’s vertical crop mode lets users simultaneously output a 9:16 vertical feed for social media platforms while maintaining a traditional horizontal broadcast — giving creators maximum versatility without extra setup.

Designed for professional broadcast workflows, the CR-N400 features 12G-SDI and 3G-SDI outputs, Genlock, and Timecode support, ensuring perfect synchronization across multi-camera systems. With NDI HX2 and adaptive bitrate SRT, this PTZ camera integrates effortlessly into IP production environments, offering flexibility for streaming, control, and power via a single PoE++ cable.

The camera captures in UHD 4K60p and supports Canon Log 3, PQ, and HLG for dynamic HDR imaging. Features like Hybrid Autofocus, Optical Image Stabilization, and Face, Eye, and Head Detection ensure professional-level performance for any production scenario.

The CR-N350 provides a cost-effective 4K solution for users who need broadcast-level quality without SDI-based infrastructure. It offers 3G-SDI, HDMI, and IP outputs, with full NDI HX2 and SRT compatibility for seamless live streaming and remote production. Like its sibling, it records in UHD 4K60p and includes Canon Log 3 and Wide DR profiles for superior tone and color reproduction.

The CR-N350 also supports Auto Tracking Lite for single-operator setups, and a powerful Auto Loop Application for repeatable, cinematic PTZ movement—making it an ideal camera for lecture halls, corporate events, or creative studios looking to automate production.

Built for Today’s Hybrid Production Environments

Both the CR-N400 and CR-N350 support Canon’s FreeD protocol for AR/VR workflows, Canon XC Protocol for remote control integration, and PoE++ for single-cable setup. Operators can manage multiple cameras with Canon’s Remote Camera Control Application (RCCA) or the Multi-Camera Management Application (MCMA) to streamline production and firmware management.
