Products Available for Demo
Creamsource Vortex8 650W Colour Including Yoke

The Creamsource Vortex8 is a premium 2x1 RGBW LED fixture built for high output, tough environments, and modern production control. With 650W of LED power, a native 20° beam angle, and output comparable to a 1.2K HMI Fresnel, the Vortex8 is designed for productions that need punch, intensity, and flexibility. Its wide 2200K to 15,000K CCT range, RGBW engine, built-in effects, and nearly silent active cooling make it equally useful as a hard source, bounce source, or diffused soft source when paired with modifiers.
Vortex8 Highlights
- 650W RGBW 2x1 LED fixture with included yoke
- Wide CCT range from 2200K to 15,000K
- Native 20° beam angle for punch and throw
- Output comparable to some 1.2K HMI systems
- IP65-rated for outdoor and demanding environments
- Triggering and shutter sync input for camera synchronization
- Built-in LumenRadio TimoTwo, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5-pin DMX, USB-A, and Creamsource accessory port
- Active cooling with nearly silent fan operation
- Supports zone control and pixel mapping through CreamOS
Why the Vortex8 Stands Out
The Vortex8 is ideal for users who need a rugged high-output fixture that can move between broadcast, cinema, location, and virtual production work without compromise. Its hard configuration makes it especially effective when you need strong output through diffusion, when bouncing off larger surfaces, or when creating defined shafts and directional punch. Unlike fixtures that need extra external power solutions, the Vortex8 integrates the power supply directly into the head for a cleaner setup.
Best Fit For
- High-speed scientific work: flicker-free operation up to 5,000 fps, high punch, and environmental durability
- Virtual production: Frame Sync compatibility, multi-zone control, and Ethernet/CRMX control
- Cinema production: strong hard source performance with modifier flexibility
- Outdoor production: IP65 protection against rain, dust, and weather exposure
Creamsource Vortex4 Soft 325W Colour Including Yoke, Softbag & Dome

Hard vs. Soft: Which Creamsource Configuration Makes Sense?
One of the most important things to understand when evaluating Creamsource fixtures is the difference between hard and soft configurations.
- Hard fixtures use a narrower beam angle for more punch and throw.
- Soft fixtures use higher LED density and provide approximately 40% more output when diffused.
- Hard fixtures can be softened with the right modifier.
- Soft fixtures cannot easily be made hard in the same way.
Broadcast studios often lean toward soft fixtures for controlled flattering output, while cinema and effects-heavy productions often prefer hard fixtures for shaping, punch, and throw.
Why These Fixtures Matter for High-Speed, Broadcast, and Virtual Production
High-Speed & Scientific Use
For high-speed and scientific customers, Creamsource fixtures offer a strong combination of flicker-free performance up to 5,000 fps, high punch, and rugged durability. Real-world testing has shown strong compatibility in demanding high-speed environments, especially where output consistency and reliability matter.
Virtual Production
Creamsource’s Frame Sync technology is a major differentiator for virtual production and camera-synced lighting. By syncing lights to the camera shutter via Genlock, it helps reduce rolling shutter artifacts and supports advanced multi-look workflows. Combined with pixel mapping, multi-zone control, CRMX, Ethernet, and media server compatibility, Creamsource is well positioned for modern LED volume and VP workflows.
Broadcast Studios
Broadcast environments benefit from Creamsource’s soft-source options, color control, app-based matching across brands, and durable professional design. The Micro also offers a white-light version for users prioritizing output over RGB control in broadcast and utility applications.
