As one of the first miniature microphone developers, DPA Microphones has embodied originality and innovation throughout the entertainment industry. Come to Omega Broadcast's first DPA workshop and grab your favorite DPA microphone, close your eyes and listen to what they have to offer you.
Workshop Topics:

  • Intro to Condenser & Dynamic Microphones
  • Pros & Cons: Condenser vs Dynamic microphones
  • Explanation of off axis response & the importance of linearity
  • Omni vs Directional microphones; how to decide what type of microphone to use
  • A general introduction to headsets, lavaliers, and shotgun microphones with interference tubes, and continuing to focus on the importance of off-axis response and mic placement.
  • Placement of microphones on presenters and changes that occur according to placement

Eric Stahlhammer, DPA's very own National Sales Support/Business Development Manager with over 15 years' experience in professional audio will present for House of Worship, Broadcast engineers and system integrators his experiences and techniques using DPA Microphones in various environments with incredible results. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different microphone placements. This hands-on experience will be done throughout the session and audio samples from past projects in different environments will also be provided for you all to hear.
