IBC 2024 Tradeshow Highlights: Cutting-Edge Announcements in Broadcast and Cinema Technology
The IBC 2024 Tradeshow in Amsterdam has once again brought some major announcements in broadcast and cinema technology. This year’s event showcases the latest products and innovations, from high-resolution cameras to versatile production equipment. Here are some of the key highlights from the show.
Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 17K 65mm Camera
Blackmagic Design has introduced the URSA Cine 17K 65mm camera, featuring support for PL, LPL, EF, and Hasselblad lens options. This camera aims to elevate cinematic production quality with its stunning 17K resolution capabilities, making it an ideal choice for filmmakers looking for unparalleled image detail and versatility in lens options.
Fujifilm DUVO HZK 14-100mm T2.9-3.9 PL-Mount Zoom Lens
Fujifilm unveiled its latest addition to the cinema lens market: the DUVO HZK 14-100mm T2.9-3.9 portable PL-mount zoom lens. This lens provides flexibility and high performance for broadcast and film applications, offering a wide focal range that caters to various production needs.
Hitachi's SK-UHD7000E Native 4K Studio Camera
Hitachi introduced the SK-UHD7000E, a native 4K studio camera designed to deliver high-quality images in professional broadcast settings. Suitable for live production and studio applications, the SK-UHD7000E enhances Hitachi's presence in the 4K broadcasting sector with its advanced performance capabilities.


Leader's LPX500 4K Quad-Input Waveform Monitor
Leader introduces the LPX500 4K Quad-Input Waveform Monitor, designed for production and post-production settings. This monitor provides precise color grading and image quality monitoring, supporting 4K workflows with its quad-input capabilities. The LPX500 offers versatile monitoring options suited for various broadcast and video production needs.
Panasonic Connect Europe Enhances 4K PTZ Cameras with NDI Support
Panasonic Connect Europe is extending NDI support to its 4K Integrated PTZ cameras (AW-UE40W/K, AW-UE50W/K, AW-HE145, and AW-UE150W/K) through a free firmware update scheduled between December 2024 and April 2025. Previously, NDI support required a paid license, but Panasonic is making this feature standard in more than 80,000 units currently in use. After April 2025, all new models will ship with NDI pre-activated, enhancing the flexibility and connectivity of Panasonic's camera lineup.
In addition, Panasonic introduced the AK-UCX100 Studio Camera and AK-CFA100 Camera Fibre Adaptor, along with the AK-UCU700/UCU710 Series Camera Control Unit, providing versatile solutions for studio and live production setups.

Ross Video's New Tools for Production and Graphics
Ross Video came to IBC 2024 with an impressive lineup, including the Carbonite Ultra Solo, a compact UHD production switcher designed for professional live production. Additionally, Ross introduced XPression v12 with new M9 hardware for real-time motion graphics updates, enhancing the quality and speed of on-air graphics.
Other notable Ross Video innovations include the TouchDrive TDx3 and TDx4 production switcher control panels, the Carbonite Code software-based production switcher with NDI I/O, and the Ultricore Tally, a new tally control and management solution designed to streamline live production workflows.
Sony's Latest in Camera and Switcher Technology
Sony announced several exciting products at IBC 2024, including the M2L-X, a software-based switcher, and the BVM-HX1710N, a 16.5-inch TRIMASTER HX 4K monitor featuring IP, SDI, and HDMI connectivity. This versatile monitor is designed for critical evaluation, editing, and production of high-quality video content.
Another highlight is the HDC-P50A, a 4K-native POV (Point of View) camera designed for capturing dynamic angles and perspectives in live production environments.
