Unified design. Smarter IP. World-first AF via FWUP.

The AK-UBX100 brings Panasonic’s studio pedigree to a compact, box-style 4K multi-purpose camera. Sharing the core design and menu philosophy of the AK-UCX100 4K studio camera, it simplifies color matching and unifies on-site operation—while opening the door to powerful, modern IP workflows.

Why UBX100 stands out

  • Unified operation: Shares core design, menus, and ROP workflow with AK-UCX100, minimizing color-matching complexity.
  • Seamless crews: Operate alongside AW-UE160 4K PTZ via a common remote operation panel (ROP) for consistent control.
  • Modern IP: Built-in support for SMPTE ST 2110, NDI®, and SRT—plus two 12G-SDI and two SFP+/28 ports.
  • Cleaner pictures: Base moiré reduction plus an optional HD OLPF for enhanced moiré suppression.
  • Ready to rig: Flat-panel, compact, ~1.9 kg body for robots, jibs, vehicles, and tight installs.
  • AF on the horizon: Autofocus support planned via firmware update (FWUP) in Q2 CY2026 for UBX100.

World’s First* AF via FWUP

Panasonic is introducing a world-first* AF function via firmware update that accelerates target acquisition regardless of lens type or operator skill. It complements the existing focus assist tools and enables granular control over AF area position, size, and response speed. One-push AF provides instant support before final manual trims—ideal for fast reframing and decisive focus pulls.

One Crew, One Language

With a shared menu interface and common ROP, the UBX100 slots into UCX100 studio chains and AW-UE160 PTZ rigs without re-training or mismatched looks. This means faster setups, less time wrangling color, and more time capturing the story.

  • SMPTE ST 2110 for broadcast IP backbones
  • NDI® for production networks and switchers
  • SRT for secure, resilient contribution
  • Two 12G-SDI + two SFP+/28 interfaces
  • HD OLPF option elevates moiré suppression for LED walls and fine patterns

Designed to Move

Flat-panel design on all four sides and ~1.9 kg weight make the UBX100 easy to robotize, cage, or remote-mount. Pair with your preferred B4/PL/Cinema glass and go.

December 2025: UCX100 Feature Additions (FWUP)
