Last week, the Panasonic Eco Solutions North America (PESNA) team that worked on an accelerated schedule to plan, construct and operate the giant video board at Fort Worth’s Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), had its moment of truth. The video board system, which TMS named
‘Big Hoss TV,’ including all of its electronics, the video content and multimedia Control Room, was unveiled before a crowd of 8,000 racing fans, and it worked flawlessly. As TMS owners and officials gathered to click a button on an oversized Panasonic remote control, the display came to life with a dazzling display of high-definition video images and fireworks. Construction of the world’s largest high-definition LED video board and its support structure was completed in only four months. As the 12-story, 108-ton, 218-feet-wide by 94-feet-high video screen lit up, the crowd responded with roar of local pride.
