Canon 7428C002 CINE-SERVO 11-55mm Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (ARRI PL) The CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 PL is a high-performance 8K lens featuring a wide angle of view of 100 degrees. It has Super 35mm sensor coverage, and when its 1.5x extender is engaged, it's able to cover full frame sensors, giving you added versatility.
With an ultra-wide-angle focal length of 11mm and a minimum focus distance of 0.6 meters, this lens is ideal for sports, live events, houses of worship, and more. The drive unit is recently developed and compared to previous iterations, offers faster focus and iris speed, Focus Breathing Compensation and a USB-C connector for saving and loading individual user preferences.
Regardless of where you place the lens, its compact size and light weight will make shooting a breeze.
Even with its ultra-wide focal length and built-in extender, the lens weighs 6.43 lbs. It also assists with Steadicam, wirecam, crane/jib, and other shooting setups where users want to reduce overall system weight.
Widest Angle 11mm in the CINE-SERVO Lens Lineup
The first CINE-SERVO lens to achieve a focal length of 11mm with Super 35mm sensor coverage and Full Frame 35mm sensor coverage with the built-in 1.5x extender engaged.
The Lightest Weight in the CINE-SERVO Lens Lineup
Even with its ultra-wide focal length and built-in extender, the lens weighs 6.43 lbs. It also assists with other shooting setups where users want to reduce the overall system weight.
Minimum Object Distance is 0.6m
For lenses, "MOD" means Minimum Object Distance, referring to the shortest distance from the lens to a subject that can still be brought into sharp focus. The MOD on the lens is 0.6m which offers incredible flexibility when filming on jibs, handheld, tripod or Steadicam and is rare for a focal length of 11mm and Super 35 sensor coverage.
Built-in 1.5x Extender for Additional Reach and Enables Support for Full-Frame Sensors
The built-in 1.5x extender expands the focal range to 82.5mm. In addition, when the extender is engaged, the image circle is increased, and the lens will cover full frame 35mm sensors.
8K Camera Support
A culmination of Canon’s optical technologies including the use of large-diameter aspherical lenses and anomalous dispersion glass provides optical performance to support 8K cameras throughout the zoom range. Aberrations are controlled as much as possible for outstanding performance from the center of the image to the edges.
Consistent Color Balance
The Canon Cinema Lens series is designed with a consistently warm color balance that reproduces skin tones more beautifully for better depiction of subject textures. Color reproduction remains stable even after changing lenses, reducing color adjustment with each shot and time and effort for postproduction.
HDR Compatible
HDR images offer expanded tonal gradations and more natural expression, but they also eliminate white and black clipping, making color bleeding, ghosting and flaring more apparent. The chromatic aberration correction supports 8K to reduce color bleeding, while in-barrel light-shielding design and coating optimization reduce ghosting and flaring.
Reduced Focus Breathing
The optical design reduces “focus breathing,” which changes in angle of view due to movement of focus position during focusing, enabling shots with consistent framing.
Includes Drive Unit with Outstanding Operability and Functionality
This model features a drive unit based on the e-Xs V for broadcast portable zoom lenses. It features focus breathing correction and offers improved servo control performance, enabling shooting of high-quality images. It also includes an info display and USB Type-C terminal for easier setup and maintenance of equipment and improved service. Enhanced operability and functionality go further to meet the demands of professionals.
12-Pin Connector Cable Comes Standard
This supplies power to the drive unit and enables iris remote control. It also supports serial communications with the camera via a 12-pin connector.
Virtual Support
The use of a 16-bit absolute value encoder enables more detailed imaging capabilities. Accurate positional information detection makes calibration easier during CG compositing.
Beautiful Bokeh with 11-Blade Iris
The 11-blade iris diaphragm gives natural bokeh that is nearly circular from fully open to minimum aperture.
The odd number of iris blades produce a soft and diffused glow on high-brightness subjects. The odd number of blades means there is no overlap of diffracted light in the opposite direction, giving a soft and diffused glow.
Communications
The lens supports 12-pin serial communication, the communication standard for broadcast cameras systems, with both RF and PL mounts.
And along with Cooke/i® Technology support, the PL mount supports ZEISS eXtended Data for added convenience.
ARIA and ALAC Compatible
The lens features ARIA (Automatic Restoration of Illumination Attenuation) and ALAC (Automatic Lens Aberration Compensation) compatibility.
ARIA1 compatibility enhances illumination performance, and ALAC1 compatibility provides aberration correction with compatible cameras.
