By combining the exceptional frame rates, superior low-light capabilities, and high resolution of the V-RAPTOR® line with the cutting-edge global shutter advancements of the KOMODO®, the V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV sensor represents the pinnacle of modern digital cinema technology. Utilizing RED’s latest 8K VV sensor, this camera offers the versatility of large-format, global shutter, high-frame-rate 8K recording, all housed in a compact yet feature-packed body weighing just over 4 lbs.

NOW WITH NIKON Z MOUNT

As part of the Z CINEMA Series, the V-RAPTOR [X] Z Mount now features a native locking Nikon Z mount, incorporating Nikon’s latest optical innovations into the cinematic world. A direct collaboration between Nikon and RED ensures that Z lenses integrate seamlessly into professional film production, delivering smooth iris control, customizable lens response, and adjustable autofocus speeds. Thanks to its shallow flange depth, the Nikon Z mount is highly adaptable, supporting a wide range of lenses via third-party adapters.

SETTING A NEW STANDARD

The V-RAPTOR [X] has a large-format global shutter camera. Retaining the foundational features of the original V-RAPTOR, it includes dual 12G SDI outputs for specialized monitoring, a locking Nikon Z mount for stability and lens versatility, and CFexpress Type B media that supports recording speeds up to 800MB/s, handling formats like 8K 120P with ease. Further enhancements, including improved in-camera audio preamps and a redesigned sensor cavity that reduces stray light and boosts contrast, solidify the V-RAPTOR’s reputation as an industry leader.

UNLOCKING NEW CREATIVE POSSIBILITIES

The V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV is further enhanced with RED Global Vision, a groundbreaking set of tools that maximize the power of its global shutter sensor. Extended Highlights allow for even greater detail in highlights, improving both HDR and SDR imaging. Additionally, Phantom Track streamlines Virtual Production workflows, supporting GhostFrame™ and Frame Remapping, enabling the camera to capture distinct R3D clips per sub-frame slice while allowing real-time monitoring of each slice over SDI outputs.

SEAMLESS CONNECTIVITY

Built on the DSMC3 platform, the V-RAPTOR [X] integrates advanced IP connectivity, enabling features such as remote control and monitoring, in-camera Frame.io integration, AWS direct upload, and RED Connect, which allows for live 8K R3D streaming over IP or live 4K through SMPTE ST 2110. This ensures a flexible, future-proof workflow for filmmakers and studio professionals.
