4th generation of the openGear platform. Built for video, hybrid and IP installations, it is the world's first and only open hardware platform. Provides more power and cooling for demanding UHD, 12G-SDI and IP workflows. The total power of the new system is 600W, with a new high capacity mode offering a maximum of 23W per slot

The new RGB LED bar on the front of the chassis allows you to colour code the rack according to its function, production line or whatever suits you best and blinks to identify the rack being configured. It also indicates alarm states, such as Signal Loss.

The openGear oGx chassis offers the flexibility of stand-alone rear modules to provide extensive connectivity, such as BNCs, twisted-pair audio and fiber, supporting everything from analog to UHD and IP. Independent rear modules are available in different I/O configurations for each board, including high-density, split rear modules, which allow up to 20 independent openGear® cards in the oGx chassis. Each box also includes double reference inputs.

The integrated LCD display provides the rack name, IP address and reports any alarms. It is possible to customize the appearance of the installation with the programmable RGB LED bar, which is also an alarm indicator.

The oGx rack accommodates 2 front-mounted, hot-swappable power supplies. The split external location of the power supplies makes installation very easy when using an alternative phase power supply. A single 600-watt power supply can fully power a loaded rack and the addition of a second (optional) power supply gives the rack full power redundancy. Each power supply contains a separate cooling fan, status LED and front-mounted power switch.

Each oGx chassis includes a comprehensive set of control interfaces. Ethernet connectivity allows DashBoard control of the openGear cards in the rack. DashBoard provides complete configuration, real-time control and monitoring, plus the tools to create a custom workflow through CustomPanels. With the optional Advanced Networking driver, DataSafe will automatically back up the card configuration and restore it if the module is changed. Optional SNMP support enables control and monitoring from third-party control solutions.

oGx was built from the ground up for reliability. Decades of Broadcast engineering experience have been applied in every detail to ensure that the oGx is up to the demands of 24/7 operation. The system includes integrated intelligent cooling, with redundant cooling for power supplies and an easy-to-clean air filter. The frame has a passive backplane, so all active system components can be hot-swapped from the front. oGx also supports hot-swappable redundant power supplies for maximum protection.
