4K HDR Master Monitor

Designed for live events, color grading, and VF/X workflows, the BVM-HX1710 16.5" 4K TRIMASTER HX Professional Master Monitor from Sony offers unparalleled color fidelity with TRIMASTER HX technology for mastering your footage. It features a high peak luminance of 3000 cd/m², sharp details, fast pixel response, and high color accuracy. Its 3840 x 2160 panel supports up to 4K HDR resolutions, has 89° viewing angles, and supports 3D LUTs and advanced color gamuts. It features 12G/3G-SDI and HDMI inputs and SDI outputs.

Simultaneous Processing and Display

The version 2.0 firmware supports simultaneous processing and output of two 4K or HD signals, enabling side-by-side comparison of 4K content for detailed visual assessments. It also allows displaying a 4K image while feeding a different 4K source with a 3D LUT applied through Enhanced Monitor Output (EMO), offering enhanced versatility for color-critical workflows.

Settings Copy through BVMK-R10

Settings can be copied between the BVM-HX3110, BVM-HX1710, and BVM-HX1710N by storing data on a USB memory stick or transferring it through the separately available BVMK-R10 monitor control unit.

4K/HD Scopes with HDR/SDR Scales

• The built-in waveform monitor and vectorscope can be displayed with scales for HDR or SDR.
• Automatic switching according to the selected EOTF setting.
• Waveform features include luma, RGB parade, YCBCR parade, and RGB overlay.
• Includes a color gamut scope that maps onto the CIE1931 chart with the standard color space display.
• With version 2.0 or later, the scopes can be expanded to twice their original size when displayed on a single screen.

Anti-Fingerprint LCD Panel

The LCD display panel is designed to make it easy to wipe off accidental fingerprints from transportation or installation.

User 3D LUTs

Load customized user LUT (Lookup Table) files from a USB stick or another EOTF for comparison during pre-grading.

• 3D interpolation also enables LUTs for HDR-SDR conversion.

Quad View

The quad-view display mode enables instant comparison of up to four sets of custom display settings including EOTF, color space, transfer matrix, color temperature, contrast, brightness, and chroma. It also enables you to view LUTs side-by-side with your original footage.

Optional HDR-SDR Converter

Unlock simultaneous production of 4K/HD HDR video and HD SDR video with independent screen display and conversion output with an optional license for SDR shading while viewing an SDR or HDR signal, producing an image without saturated highlights or crushed lowlights. The three available licenses are:

• BVML-H10 with support for Sony’s HDR-SDR, 3D LUT and 4K-HD conversion.
• BVML-S10 with support for 3D LUT/4K-HD conversion.
• BVML-T10 with support for 3D LUT conversion only.

Optional Enhancement Licenses

An optional high-speed pixel response license can be purchased separately for live sports and music productions. Pan and tilt movements are displayed with less motion blur, while scrolling tickers are easier to read and check. The combination of rapid video response and high brightness make this display even clearer than OLED displays.
