Rode RCV-S RODECaster Video S All-in-One Audio/Video Console
The RODECaster Video S All-in-One Audio/Video Console refines the original RODECaster Video into a more streamlined, creator-focused tool. It maintains professional-grade video switching, recording, and studio-quality audio controls—perfect for podcasters, streamers, and solo content producers. Its user-friendly interface includes a 2" touchscreen and rotary encoder for precise adjustments, with broad connectivity through HDMI, USB-C, and NDI inputs. Both wired and wireless networking options are supported, and integration with RODE’s ecosystem is seamless via USB-C audio ports or the RODE Central software.
Video Interface
The RODECaster Video S provides nine mix-effect layers for both preview and program outputs. Two downstream keyers manage overlays and logos, two chroma keyers support green or blue screen backgrounds, and a luma keyer works alongside dual media players that handle MP4, PNG, JPG, or WAV files directly from USB storage.
Multiview mode gives real-time visibility of all active inputs, scenes, and media thumbnails, along with mixer levels, recording status, and system information. Its nondestructive setup allows live adjustments or saved configurations without interrupting production flow.
The unit supports four 1080p60 inputs (three HDMI, one USB-C) and up to four NDI streams from PTZ cameras. Saved multi-layer scenes can be recalled instantly. The HDMI output can be configured to show program, preview, or multiview feeds as needed.
Audio Sources
Two studio-grade combo XLR-1/4" jacks utilize low-noise, high-gain Revolution Preamps for pristine sound from microphones or instruments. USB-C ports connect RODE USB microphones, the RODECaster Pro II, or Duo Production Studios, and additional USB-C connections support 2-in/2-out multichannel audio, mix-minus, and MFi compatibility.
Integrated wireless receivers pair with RODE Series IV microphones such as the Wireless GO II and Wireless PRO. Each channel includes Aphex VoxLab processing—EQ, compression, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser, Aural Exciter, Big Bottom, and Compellor effects—with up to 75 dB of gain and -131.5 dBV EIN. Audio can be mixed via the touchscreen or through RODE Central’s software mixer.
RODE Ecosystem Connectivity
The USB4 interface connects compatible RODE microphones like the RODECaster Pro II and Duo, allowing smooth integration within the RODE product family.
Intuitive Controls
The RODECaster Video S is optimized for fast, scene-based production control. Automatic chroma keying simplifies background replacement with selectable blue or green screens. Adjustable transparency allows for layering with other video sources or graphics. Media buttons load clips, images, and sound effects from USB drives, while two media players handle seamless transitions. Graphic buttons trigger transparent overlays for professional visuals.
Intelligent Auto-Switching
Intelligent auto-switching enables smooth, hands-free transitions between sources by linking audio and video inputs. The system automatically detects speaking participants and switches the active feed. Prioritization and timing algorithms ensure natural, dynamic scene changes that mimic live production workflows.
Intuitive Streaming and Recording
Stream directly at up to 100 Mb/s using RTMP/RTMPS to platforms like YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook Live via Wi-Fi 6 or Ethernet. Multiview displays real-time health indicators. The console supports up to four NDI inputs with one output for Ethernet streaming, plus dual-camera streaming through the free RODE Capture app for iOS.
Record to external USB drives or the built-in 24 GB storage, with support for isolated (ISO) multitrack recording. Program feeds are captured as H.264/AVC MP4 files with embedded AAC stereo mixes, while up to nine stereo WAV files can be recorded simultaneously for postproduction flexibility.
RODE Central Software
The RODE Central companion software unlocks advanced configuration, audio mixing, and streaming management for macOS and Windows. Users can automate switching, manage streaming profiles, and fine-tune device parameters with precision.
Custom Scene Builder
Within RODE Central, the Scene Builder lets you design and preview custom layouts in real time. Choose RODE presets or create from scratch, saving up to five unique scenes for instant recall during live production.
Wireless Remote Control
For remote operation, the RODECaster Video S can be fully managed through the RODECaster App. Switch video sources, adjust audio, or configure complex scenes wirelessly from your computer for total creative freedom.
