Panasonic Firmware Updates
Two Panasonic Camera Updates Built for Modern Broadcast Workflows
New no-cost firmware updates bring expanded 4K output and advanced autofocus capabilities to key Panasonic production cameras.
AW-HE145: 4K/30P HDMI Output Now Supported
The Panasonic AW-HE145 has long been a trusted PTZ camera for broadcast, live event, house of worship, education, and corporate AV environments. With firmware version 1.33, Panasonic has added 4K/30P HDMI output to the AW-HE145 at no cost.
This update requires no hardware modifications and is available now through the Panasonic PASS portal. For existing AW-HE145 users, it is a valuable performance enhancement. For new buyers, it makes the AW-HE145 even more competitive for workflows that demand higher-quality delivery.
Firmware Version 1.33 Highlights
- Supports 4K/30p HDMI output: 2160/29.97p, 25p, 24p, and 23.98p
- Adds new System menu options for frequency and format settings
- Adds Camera menu updates including Scene > Picture options such as DownCon Detail
- Improves operational stability during SRT streaming
- Fixes a TSL5.0 Tally Protocol issue affecting Index Numbers 20 and 21
Omega Broadcast & Cinema currently has the AW-HE145 in stock, and there is an instant rebate available right now.
AK-UBX100: Auto Focus Joins the Panasonic Broadcast Ecosystem
Panasonic is also bringing Auto Focus capability to the AK-UBX100 4K multi-purpose camera through a no-cost firmware update available in May 2026 via Panasonic PASS.
With this update, the AK-UBX100 joins the AK-UCX100 studio camera as one of the only 4K broadcast cameras in the industry to offer Auto Focus. Powered by Phase Detection Auto Focus technology, the same AF engine also operates in the AW-UE160 PTZ camera, helping production teams maintain a consistent focus experience across multiple camera categories.
A Unified Panasonic Platform Advantage
- Shared Large Single MOS sensor and V11 Image Signal Processor
- Unified matrix, color correction, and gamma settings for easier color matching
- Common Remote Operation Panel compatibility with standardized menus and layouts
- Built-in web GUI architecture for faster setup and reduced operational complexity
This shared platform across the AK-UCX100, AK-UBX100, and AW-UE160 can help reduce setup time, simplify operator training, and make it easier for teams to transition between studio, PTZ, and multi-purpose camera workflows.
