Optical Performance

Leveraging the optical system of SIGMA’s acclaimed Art line—specifically the 28–45mm F1.8 DG DN | Art—the 28–45mm T2 FF delivers high resolution and smooth, attractive bokeh across the zoom range. A combination of mature design experience, modern development techniques, and precision manufacturing at SIGMA’s Aizu facility contributes to a sharp, clean image with minimized flare and ghosting, whether focused close or at distance.

Cinema-Ready Mechanics

The AF Cine Line pairs Art-series imaging with cinema-style controls. The lens features a limited-rotation focus ring for responsive pulls, industry-standard 0.8M pitch gears for follow-focus systems, and a clickless aperture ring for smooth exposure transitions. The layout and tactile feel are optimized for professional on-set workflows.

Autofocus for Modern Sets

Powered by SIGMA’s HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), autofocus offers precise subject tracking with near-silent operation, supporting fast action, rapid rack-focus moves on gimbals or handheld rigs, and unpredictable documentary moments—while maintaining the control and repeatability required in professional production.

General Product Features

A focus ring with hard stops, external markings, and an extended linear response allows for intuitive manual focus when precision is required, with the flexibility to switch back to fast, nearly silent autofocus when mobility is key. A click-less aperture ring enables stepless iris control, while standardized gearing on the zoom, iris, and focus rings allows for seamless integration with follow-focus systems and other accessories. With the robust build of a true cine lens combined with the flexibility of an autofocus photo lens, the AF Cine 28–45mm T2 FF delivers a unique degree of functionality to mirrorless filmmakers.

Why It Matters

By combining cinema ergonomics with advanced optics and reliable AF, the SIGMA AF Cine Line broadens creative options on set. Productions that previously juggled between still-photo zooms and manual cine primes can now streamline rigs without compromising image character or control.
