Creamsource Vortex2 & Vortex2 Soft: Compact IP65 LED Fixtures Available for Pre-Order
Creamsource has expanded the Vortex family with two new compact fixtures designed for crews that need professional lighting performance in a more portable package. The new Vortex2 and Vortex2 Soft deliver the same CreamOS workflow, advanced RRGBBW color engine, IP65 weather resistance, and color consistency found throughout the Vortex lineup while offering greater flexibility for mobile productions, documentary work, broadcast environments, and location shoots.

One Platform, Two Lighting Styles
The Vortex2 and Vortex2 Soft share the same core technology but are designed for different lighting approaches. The standard Vortex2 is engineered as a focused source with a native 20-degree beam angle, making it ideal when greater intensity and directional control are required. The Vortex2 Soft, on the other hand, delivers a much wider 110-degree spread, producing softer illumination and broader coverage for interviews, fill light, and larger lighting environments.
Both fixtures maintain nearly identical dimensions and lightweight designs, making them easy to transport between setups while remaining durable enough for professional production use.
Creamsource Color Management System
At the heart of both fixtures is Creamsource's Color Management System (CCMS). By combining precision calibration, intelligent software processing, and a sophisticated RRGBBW LED array, the system delivers highly accurate color reproduction across the entire output range. Whether operating at full intensity or low dimming levels, the fixtures maintain reliable color consistency while compensating for temperature changes during operation.
The advanced LED configuration includes red, deep red, green, blue, royal blue, and white emitters, allowing for richer reds, more vibrant blues, improved warm tones, and cleaner daylight-balanced output compared to conventional RGBW fixtures.
With a color temperature range spanning from 2200K to 15,000K, both fixtures can easily match practical lighting, daylight, tungsten sources, or highly stylized creative looks.
Built for Demanding Production Environments
The Vortex2 Series is designed to withstand challenging production conditions. Its IP65-rated housing protects against dust and water intrusion, making it suitable for exterior shoots and unpredictable weather conditions. A built-in power supply simplifies deployment while maintaining a clean and efficient rig.
Each fixture includes a quick-change front accessory system, multiple mounting points, 360-degree yoke movement, and compatibility with Creamsource's expanding range of lenses and modifiers. The fixtures are also compatible with the company's LNX rigging ecosystem, allowing multiple units to be combined into larger lighting arrays when greater output or coverage is needed.
Browser-Based Configuration with CreamOS V3.0
Managing Vortex fixtures has become even easier with CreamOS V3.0. Through a browser-based interface, users can discover, configure, monitor, and control fixtures directly from any device connected to the same network. The multilingual interface provides a streamlined workflow that allows technicians and lighting crews to make adjustments quickly without requiring dedicated software installations.
Professional connectivity options include etherCON networking, DMX pass-through, LumenRadio CRMX wireless control, Bluetooth connectivity, and 48V DC power input, giving crews multiple options for integrating the fixtures into existing lighting systems.
