Roland Unveils the V-1-4K Video Switcher

Roland has introduced the new V-1-4K Video Switcher, a compact all-in-one solution built for modern 4K 60p live production. Designed for live events, houses of worship, conference rooms, streaming, and hybrid productions, the V-1-4K brings together flexible video I/O, audio mixing, PTZ camera control, and graphics tools in a streamlined, easy-to-operate package.

The new switcher is expected in June 2026. It is not available yet, but you can preorder it with us now.

Roland V-1-4K Video Switcher

A New Standard for Compact 4K Switching

Roland’s V-1 series has long been known for making professional video switching more accessible, and the new V-1-4K pushes that concept further with full support for today’s 4K 60p workflows. This switcher is built to deliver serious production capability in a portable footprint, making it a strong fit for teams that need higher-end features without the complexity of a much larger system.

With HDMI, USB 3.0, and LAN connectivity, plus built-in support for remote operation, graphics, PTZ control, and audio processing, the V-1-4K is aimed at productions that need flexibility without slowing down setup and operation.

HDMI Scaling and Flexible Routing

The V-1-4K features five HDMI inputs with scalers on every channel, allowing smooth switching between HD and 4K 60p HDR sources. That gives production teams more freedom to work with mixed source formats without adding unnecessary friction to setup.

On the output side, the switcher offers five HDMI outputs and USB streaming for six total output paths. In addition to program, preview, and multiview outputs, channels 3 and 4 can be assigned to different buses and input signals using 4K-to-HD downscalers, giving users more routing flexibility for monitors, confidence displays, and other production destinations.

More Engaging Productions with Layered Visuals

The V-1-4K includes three composition layers that make it easier to build more polished and visually engaging productions. Picture-in-picture layouts, titles, logos, social comments, and other on-screen elements can be added without needing a much more expensive graphics workflow.

Roland also supports these workflows with Graphics Presenter for Windows, which makes it possible to create and manage 4K and HD titles, motion graphics, sports scores, and other visual elements using ready-to-edit templates. It is a practical addition for teams that want professional graphics without bringing in separate third-party systems.

ROI Makes One 4K Camera Work Harder

One of the most useful workflow features in the V-1-4K is its ROI (Region of Interest) processor. This allows operators to create up to four different shots from a single 4K camera feed—for example, a wide shot, a medium shot, and tighter close-up views—all without adding more cameras to the production.

For smaller teams, that can mean a major boost in production value while keeping setup, complexity, and budget under control. Adjustments can also be handled through the V-1-4K RCS or Remote app for a faster, more efficient workflow.

Plug-and-Play Streaming and PTZ Camera Control

Streaming is designed to be straightforward. The V-1-4K uses a USB-C connection that works like a standard webcam source, making it easy to connect to a computer and go live through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other supported streaming platforms.

Roland also built in PTZ camera integration for select Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic, and VISCA-compatible PTZ LAN cameras. Users can mix brands and control up to five PTZ cameras at once, with iPad-based remote operation available through the V-1-4K Remote app.

Audio Processing and Custom Control for Hybrid Events

Audio is a serious part of the package as well. The V-1-4K includes 14 channels of audio mixing with tools like equalizers, compressors, and sync delay across all input and output buses. It also supports routing to main, monitor, and two aux buses, which is especially useful in hybrid event environments where audio destinations can get more complex.

For faster live operation, Roland includes eight user-assignable pads organized into four banks, providing direct access to 32 customizable operations. That makes it easier to trigger switching, muting, configuration changes, and other important functions on the fly.
