Canon Expands Its Lineup with a New CINE-SERVO Lens, RC-IP300 Controller, and MS-510 Camera

Canon is introducing three new solutions designed for distinct production needs: long-range cinema capture, PTZ production control, and ultra-low-light imaging. The new CINE-SERVO 40-1200mm T5.0-10.8, RC-IP300 PTZ Camera Controller, and MS-510 Ultra-High-Sensitivity Camera each solve a very different production challenge, and all three are available for preorder with us.

Canon’s new CINE-SERVO 40-1200mm T5.0-10.8 is a serious optical release. It combines an extreme focal range with a form factor that is still practical for real production work. At approximately 14.8 lbs. and 17.2 inches long, it remains relatively compact for what it delivers, making it suitable for tripod use, vehicle mounting, aerial work, sports, live events, cinema production, and houses of worship.

Ultra-Long Reach Without the Usual Bulk

The headline feature is simple: this lens covers an enormous 40-1200mm range, and the built-in 1.5x extender pushes that to an equivalent of 60-1800mm on Super 35mm sensors. That opens the door to shots that would normally require far more specialized setups or multiple lenses.

Canon says the lens natively covers Super 35mm, while the extender expands the image circle to support full-frame sensor cameras. That added flexibility matters for productions that need reach but do not want to lock themselves into a narrow use case.

Built for 8K, HDR, and Consistent Cinema Color

Canon designed the CINE-SERVO 40-1200mm to support 8K image quality throughout the zoom range, with controlled aberrations and strong edge-to-edge optical performance. It is also built with HDR workflows in mind, which is critical for productions that need both reach and image fidelity.

Like Canon’s broader cinema lens series, it also maintains a consistent warm color balance that helps reproduce skin tones naturally and reduces the amount of color correction needed when changing lenses. The 11-blade iris also contributes to smoother, more natural bokeh and softer highlight rendering.

New Drive Unit and Better Servo Performance

Canon redesigned the drive unit with Focus Breathing Compensation and added a USB-C terminal. When powered with USB-PD, the zoom and focus servo speeds improve noticeably. For operators working in fast-paced environments, that means the lens can respond quicker when timing and shot accuracy matter.

The lens also supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF II and Dual Pixel Focus Guide, giving shooters more confidence in 4K and higher-resolution workflows where focus precision becomes far less forgiving.

RF Mount Communication Adds More Workflow Value

The RF mount version supports a wide range of image correction features, including peripheral illumination, chromatic aberration, distortion, magnification, and focus breathing correction. When paired with the EOS C400, it also supports Auto Exposure Ramping Compensation to help correct for light loss at the tele end while zooming.

Canon RC-IP300 PTZ Camera Controller

$2,499 • Estimated Ship Date: June 30

The RC-IP300 is built for operators managing complex PTZ workflows. With the ability to control up to 200 cameras over IP, this controller turns multi-camera environments into a more responsive and streamlined system with tactile control and real-time monitoring.

Built for Multi-Camera Efficiency

The integrated 3.5-inch touchscreen displays up to nine camera feeds at once in 2x2 or 3x3 layouts. Operators can instantly select, monitor, and adjust feeds from the controller itself, which helps reduce reliance on external displays and speeds up day-to-day operation.

Advanced Control and Smart Operation

Waveform, vectorscope, focus guide display, preset thumbnails, menu indexing, and trace support all help operators work faster and with more confidence. Combined with the physical joystick, zoom rocker, assignable buttons, and customizable controls, the RC-IP300 is clearly designed for fast-paced live production.

It also works with Canon’s Auto Tracking and Auto Loop applications, allowing users to automate framing and camera movement directly from the controller. That makes it especially appealing for lectures, corporate events, worship environments, and any production where repeatable camera movement is a major advantage.

Canon MS-510 Ultra-High-Sensitivity Camera

$22,800 • Estimated Ship Date: June 30

The MS-510 is one of the more specialized Canon releases in recent memory. It is designed to capture subjects in full color from several miles away, even in extremely dark conditions. This is a camera built for situations where standard low-light systems are simply not enough.

SPAD Sensor Technology Changes the Conversation

Instead of relying on conventional CMOS imaging, the MS-510 uses a Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) sensor that counts individual photons. That enables much higher sensitivity with lower noise, making the camera especially effective for long-range low-light applications.

Built for Visibility in Difficult Conditions

Features like infrared night mode, haze compensation, and Smart Shade Control help recover detail when fog, mist, backlight, or very dark conditions would normally hide the subject.

Broadcast Lens Compatibility Matters

With a B4 mount, the MS-510 can take advantage of Canon’s broadcast lens ecosystem. That makes it easier to adapt the camera to long-range professional workflows where lens performance and remote control precision are critical.
